A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Brooklyn, a Boston girl now living by the beach in South Florida. I’m a contemporary artist who works primarily with acrylics and mixed media. My art is inspired by the electric energy of the 1950s, from pop culture, classic cars, music, and retro design.

My artistic eye was shaped from an early age. I grew up surrounded by classic cars, spending time with my grandfather as he restored old Corvettes and hot rods. I was always right there beside him, taking it all in—the curves of the cars, the rich colors of the paint, the chrome details that shimmered under the neon lights in the garage—it all felt like art to me. My grandpa’s garage wasn’t just a place to work on cars—it was like stepping into a time capsule, a 50s diner filled with vintage memorabilia, checkered floors, and a jukebox playing old songs. Across the way, you’d find yourself in another room, filled with patterns and textures. My grandmother was there, surrounded by quilted masterpieces, each one a carefully crafted work of art. Moving between these two creative worlds—the electric energy of my grandfather’s garage and the meticulous artistry of my grandmother’s quilting—I learned how to channel bold expression with thoughtful detail into my own work.

As I grew, so did my artistic vision. I found my unique voice by blending vintage and contemporary elements, capturing the soul of the past while giving it new life—much like my grandfather did with his cars. Over time, that passion only grew stronger, and I realized art wasn’t just something I did—it was who I was.

Though art has always been in my heart, I initially pursued marketing when it came time to choose a career. After graduating, I started working in that field, but something was missing. My desire to paint kept pulling at me. It wasn’t a hobby I could keep on the back burner. So, I took a leap, shifted my focus, and dedicated myself to art full-time, finally giving my vision the space to grow.

Now, living in South Florida, I’m hit with a new wave of inspiration. The expressive community around me fuels my work in new and exciting ways. I’m embracing this next chapter of my journey and eager to see how my art continues to evolve in this new environment.

Through my work, I hope to remind people that the charm of the past never fades. Whether it’s through the sleek lines of a vintage car, the pages of a forgotten magazine, or the music that once played on a jukebox, I aim to capture that timeless quality in every piece I create.

Thank you for reading. <3
